Birthplace: Greenfield, Massachusetts, USA

American actor, Jake Lacy was born on February 14, 1985 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Lacy took vocational theater classes and acting roles throughout high school and college. He attended the University of North Carolina School of Arts, from which he graduated in 2008, and performed in professional Shakespeare stage productions, such as A Midsummer Night's Dream and Much Ado About Nothing. In spite of making his TV debut in an episode of the long-running soap opera "Guiding Light" (CBS, 1952-2009), Lacy worked odd jobs in New York, like as a gym receptionist and waiter, while he auditioned during the day. When he became a part of the main cast on the short-lived sitcom "Better With You" (ABC, 2010-11), Lacy was able to begin acting full time. He joined the cast of "The Office" (NBC, 2005-2013) for its ninth and final season, and was nominated as part of the ensemble for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Lacy made his film debut opposite Jenny Slate in "Obvious Child" (2014), then followed it up with a role in critically acclaimed drama "Carol" (2015). He played Fran, a regular character throughout a couple seasons on "Girls" (HBO, 2012-17), and appeared in "How to Be Single" (2016). Lacy then leaned toward more dramatic material once again with a role in the Jessica Chastain-led "Miss Sloane" (2016), but returned to television and comedy as a guest star on "I'm Dying Up Here" (Showtime, 2017), which portrayed the world of 1970s stand up comedy.
