Skylights Too Much for Diggers

BUTTE – The Lady Diggers saw just how tough the MSU-Northern Skylights are and why they are on top of the conference. After winning the first set, Northern stormed back for three straight downing the Diggers 25-22, 16-25, 21-25, 16-25.

Montana Tech (13-6, 3-3) is sitting in the middle of the conference standings.

MSU-Northern (13-4, 6-0) is still unbeaten in the conference and will likely rise in the national poll after receiving some votes last week.

Both teams were even in kills with 50 apiece. Northern led in blocks 10-5 and had less error at the net, 25-17.

Montana Tech was led by Sydney Norris with 11 kills. She posted 10 errors and hit for .022 in the match. She added nine digs on the defensive effort.

Freshman Haley Druyvestein had 10 kills and just one error hitting for .643 in the match.

Kimmy Kavran led the defense with 24 digs.

Abby Nicholas led the Skylights with 19 kills and just two errors. She hit .405 for the match and had 10 digs.

Montana Tech hosts Lewis-Clark State Saturday afternoon. The match is slated to start at 2 p.m.
