ANNAPOLIS, MD —A new ale house opened Monday outside the Westfield Annapolis mall.

The bar and grill, named Miller's Ale House, will have more than 35 beers on tap. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant can seat at least 220 guests.

The site also has retractable garage doors to create indoor-outdoor seating. The sports-themed eatery has over 60 TVs.

Miller's Ale House, which is not related to Miller Lite, has more than 100 locations spread across 10 states. Another 12 are slated to open this year in Maryland, New Jersey, Georgia and Florida. The business said it cannot yet announce the towns of those locations, as some are still under lease negotiations.

This is Maryland's third Miller's Ale House. The other two are in Bel Air and Hyattsville.

“With a wide variety of retail and dining, the Annapolis Mall area is the perfect spot for our first Annapolis location,” Miller’s Ale House CEO Nikhil Khanna said in a press release. “We look forward to introducing the community to Miller’s iconic, scratch-made dishes and lively ‘come-as-you-are’ vibe.”

The Annapolis restaurant is located at 178 Jennifer Road outside JCPenney.

The property used to be home to Romano's Macaroni Grill, but that restaurant closed and the building was demolished. The Miller's Ale House is brand-new construction.

Its hours are:

  • Sunday through Thursday: 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Changes At Annapolis Mall

The Annapolis mall has seen some changes in recent months.

L'Antico Gusto Italiano opened in March, offering sandwiches and salads in the food court.

The team behind InGrano will launch a new cafe next to Build-A-Bear Workshop.

The Original Pancake House will debut across from the California Pizza Kitchen. And Lasang Pinoy will open a Filipino restaurant across from Chipotle.

Jongro KBBQ is putting the finishing touches on a Korean barbecue restaurant. Seoul Blues Coffee & Dessert is also building out its space. Both eateries are slated to open soon outside the mall's food court entrance.

Capital Teas also returned to the mall in November 2022, opening up near JCPenney.

On the other hand, the mall has undergone some turnover in the past few months.

Nando's PERi-PERi, bareMinerals and BrookieGirl Bath + Body Care all shuttered their Annapolis locations around the New Year.

Squishable, a stuffed animal store, filled the vacancy left by BrookieGirl. The business opened this spring and is sandwiched between Soft Surroundings and Chocolate Moonshine.

Perfume City moved into bareMinerals' old space in mid-March. The fragrance store neighbors Eddie Bauer near the California Pizza Kitchen entrance.

Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids both closed their Annapolis mall locations before opening a Pottery Barn in the Annapolis Town Center.

Waikiki, a women's discount clothier across from Macy's, replaced Pottery Barn Kids in early April. Spaces We Create, an interior designer, will soon fill Pottery Barn's location next to the Blue Garage.

Papaya's storefront was covered up in mid-March, and the women's clothing chain no longer lists the Annapolis location on its website. Patch has not yet heard the future plans for this site.
