Our Favorite Patch Pets Of 2018

This past year has brought us plenty of ups and downs — but there's one thing we can always count on: our furry friends! And if you ask us, there's no better way to celebrate the end of 2018 than with a cross-country roundup of adorable, fun-loving, loyal companions — some of whom you might have seen around your own hometowns.

That's why we've compiled a list of our readers' four-legged family members, who never fail to put a smile on our faces. From trilingual pups to pooches with refined palates and best-friend felines who love to cuddle, these are all of our 2018 Patch Pets who have stolen our hearts.

Addie

Age: 9 years old

Breed: Hound mix

Hometown: Amityville, New York

About: Addie was a shelter pooch who needed a loving home, and found one when she was only a few months old. Even though she sometimes gets herself into trouble with her family members, she is genuinely the sweetest dog ever.

Spanky

Age: 13 years old

Breed: Havanese/Shih Tzu mix

Hometown: Sparta, New Jersey

About: Known affectionately as "Spanky Doodle" by his family, he is both lovable and stubborn. Spanky enjoys meeting new people, but in his older age, he has grown to love his alone time as well.

Hans

Age: 3 years old

Breed: French Bulldog

Hometown: North Wales, Pennsylvania

About: Hans is very protective and caring. If he sees anyone hurt, he will try his hardest to protect you. He loves to be the center of attention and will do funny things to get the attention if he's not. He is a true ham!

Milo

Age: 6 years old

Breed: Border Collie/Gorgi mix, but possibly part Jack Russel or Beagle

Hometown: Orange, New Jersey

About: Milo has a "short dog" complex and becomes a "tough guy" when bigger dogs come around, but he LOVES people, kids and female dogs. He gets pleasure out of being around people all of the time. How sweet!

Jasmine

Age: 7 years old

Breed: Shetland Sheep Dog (Sheltie)

Hometown: Islip Terrace, New York

About: Jasmine just recently passed a test to become farm dog certified! Even though Jasmine can be quite the instigator for trouble, she is the sweetest pup and brings so much joy to her family.

Charlie

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Mini Schnauzer

Hometown: Flushing, Queens

About: Charlie felt comfortable at his home the second he got there. He was lovable, and friendly – and remains that way to this day. Charlie is unique in that he understands three languages: English, Spanish and Guarani! Maybe he can give us lessons?

Zeke

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Golden Retriever

Hometown: Bedminster, New Jersey

About: Zeke is described as sweet, funny and outgoing. He LOVES to be the center of attention at all times and showing his toys to everybody he meets.

Caroline and Max

Age: 1 year old

Breed: domestic short-haired cats

Hometown: Seattle, Washington

About: Meet feline sisters Caroline and Max, who also double as best friends. They love getting head and back scratches! And, like the loving sisters they are, they love to cuddle with each other. (And PS — their mom happens to be radio host and Patch Tastemaker Carla Marie!)

Zeus

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Teddy Bear Pomeranian

Hometown: Princeton, New Jersey

About: Zeus is known to be quite the momma's boy and goes everywhere his mom goes. Zeus loves to get his stomach and head scratched. Don't think about stopping, though; he wants you to scratch all day!

Kady

Age: 7 years old

Breed: Wheaten Terrier

Hometown: Little Silver, New Jersey

About: Kady has a wide variety of interests. She loves cheese sticks (so do we). She also enjoys tummy rubs, ruining mom's new couch (which we're sure she's thrilled about), going for car rides and waking up her family members. Kady is also quite the beach bum.

Loki

Age: 1-and-a-half years old

Breed: Mini Golden Doodle

Hometown: Monroe Township, New Jersey

About: Loki is the happiest pup and has a lot of energy! He likes to start his mornings with some exercise by playing chase right after he wakes up. He also loves puppy play dates with his best buds.

Reese's

Age: 1 year old

Hometown: Manalapan, New Jersey

Breed: Poodle

About: Reese's is an adorable, active and fun-loving pup. He's just as sweet as he looks, which is why his family sometimes calls him Reese's Pieces.

Koda

Age: 6 years old

Hometown: Lemont, Illinois

Breed: Pitbull

About: Koda is such a loving, sweet pooch. He is a great brother to his sister, Britney (a beagle). He has been the best addition to his family and they certainly can't imagine life without him.

Goldy

Age: 2 years old

Breed: Rescue pup

About: Goldy is a regular at her local dog park and loves to run like the wind! Although Goldy can be a little shy around new people, she loves all dogs and cats as if they were her family.

Cujo

Age: 10 years old

Breed: Morkie

About: Cujo has brought nothing but joy to his family since he was rescued and he is the light of their lives! Cujo's favorite treat is carrots — healthy and delicious! He's crazy about carrots; he goes through a couple of pounds a week.

BlackJack

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Yorkie

About: BlackJack was super tiny when his family first got him. As soon as his new owner picked him up, she got attacked with kisses and that was when she knew she had to have BlackJack in her life. Who can resist puppy kisses?

Lexi

Age: 1 year old

Breed: Bernadoodle

About: Lexi is so adorable and the sweetest pup you'll ever meet. She loves the cold weather and thrives in it. (Probably because all of her cute fluff keeps her warm and cozy!)

Eli

Breed: "A great dane in a 20-pound body."

About: Eli's nickname, Small Boy, is perfect for a tiny pup like him. Eli may be little, but he has a larger than life personality. He's an energetic pup and he loves running around at the park!

Rocky

Age: 2 years old

Hometown: New Jersey

Breed: Morkie

About: Rocky loves to be kissed and snuggled by his owners. He also loves food — all kinds of food! He gets pretty mad when no one will share their food with him. LOL, same Rocky.

Mia

Age: 10 months old

Hometown: New Jersey

Breed: Yorkie

About: Mia, AKA "Pumpkin," brings so much love into her home. She loves playing with her owner's grandkids and they all love her so much. Her owners are so happy to have her in their lives.

Chipa

Age: 1 year old

Hometown: Paraguay

About: Chipa is originally from Paraguay – she was a street dog there. Her owner found her while she was serving in the Peace Corps and Chipa was brought back to the U.S. almost a year ago. Chipa loves socializing with other dogs (no matter how big they are) and running errands with her mom.
