Serpent & the Swan ‘Burn My Heart Pendant in Boulder Opal’ - $970.71
We first caught a glimpse of this necklace in the Making Of Midnights post. Thanks to the brand confirming, Taylor’s stone is the Australian Boulder Opal which is said to “calm the inner soul by representing the interplay of emotional elements, as seen by its refracting colours. This gemstone … facilitates personal actualisation and self-awareness. It is an excellent stone for progress, expansion, and development.”
A very appropriate summary of Midnights, in my opinion.

Galvan London ‘Rhea Bodysuit’ - $564.00
The supremacy of collared sweaters continues with Taylor’s candid Midnights promotion and I, for one, fully support it.

Reformation ‘Lorenzo Velvet Dress’ - $328.00
I woke up to so many questions this morning.
Which tour date am I going to?
How many am I going to?
How is Paramore opening for Taylor Swift in the year 2023?
But the biggest question on my mind is when was this photo of Tay and Phoebe taken and where.

For me, one of the most fun things about album rollout is picking up repeat patterns and motifs in Taylor’s fashion. The items and silhouettes and little details that feel special to that era and to that time. For RED it might be a kitten heel. For 1989 it’s probably a crop top. You get the gist.
Sometimes those elements aren’t as seamless in transitioning to a ‘normal persons’ wardrobe in their everyday life. But as someone who has always loved a blazer, loved structure, loved the polish of an oxford button up, or the strong lapel of a coat—the recurring detail of collars in her Midnights fashion in so many different ways has been so fun to see continue to crop up.

Free People ‘Renata Fur Coat’ - $168.00
It isn’t the 70s without some kind of shag moment. This is a very fun lavender-adjacent moment (that I suspect is part of a music video lewk?).

Reformation ‘Leone Cashmere Sweater Mini Dress’ - $278.00
I’m a big lover of stripes, though I usually gravitate towards those in more neutral tones. For Midnights, however, and the gentle lean towards 70s-inspired fashun—this multi-color stripe is very fun and feels like a lovely nod to that. Not only because of the context of something slightly more laidback and casual, I think not opting for an opaque/matte red lip was the right call. The pink here is softer and sweeter.
Taylor first wore this dress in a recent Spotify video but it’s nice to get a much bigger picture of it in this new behind the scenes video for her song with Lana Del Rey.

Re/Done ‘60s Wool-Blend Plaid Sweater Vest’ - $365.00
Sweater vests have been largely trending the last year or so, and as always it’s fun to see Taylor dip her toes into a trendy fashion item as she does so sparingly. The warm tones and 60s/70s librarian energy are strong here. Which is to say I’m obsessed.

I’ve been obsessed with polo sweaters this fall so I’m delighted to see Taylor wearing one here. I just love the little bit of polish and structure a collar adds to a cozy sweater.

Acne Studios ‘Corduroy Skirt’ - $380.00
It’s been the most fun just to see Taylor’s fashion again. Her relationship to the invasive nature of candid street photography is understandable, but it warms my heart to be able to see her style come through in a way that she can control for a project that she’s obviously so proud of. Forgive the emotional sidebar - it just fills my heart with so much joy.
Now to the 'fit itself - it should come as no surprise that this quickly skyrocketed in my rankings of 'Mayhem’ outfits. The interplay of both similar ribbing in the materials creates a seamless throughline for the outfit - supported by the overall mossy green(!!!) tonal vibes. But it’s the sheen of each fabric offsets them from one another so each piece is distinct, but complementary.

I’ll always love a check mini skirt, tempered by a long sleeve black basic. Especially a skirt like this one that’s a mossy shade of green.
