Inspiring People to Be the Change

About us

We at HandsOn London are here to make volunteering an easy and manageable reality for hard working Londoners. We challenge the norm with a unique way to volunteer, one day at a time. When you want, where you want, as often as you want. Our mission is to Inspire and Empower people to Be The Change they want to see. Almost every day HandsOn London community volunteers are out supporting Homeless Shelters, Soup Kitchens, Food Banks, Older People’s projects, Children’s Centres and environmental projects across London. We make it possible for individuals to give the amount of time they want, without a big commitment. We also organise Corporate teams to volunteer together through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. We work to understand the needs and interests of your company and employees to tailor a programme that rewards all those involved.

We want to showcase this wonderful STEM Activity Booklet made by volunteers from Savanta. These activity booklets go to our charity partners including schools and community organisations who support families on low incomes. The booklets provide children access to engaging educational materials outside of school which they wouldn't have otherwise. The team's booklet taught the children about STEM subjects, while also being a fun activity for them to complete with their family. Thank you to the Savanta team for your time, effort, and unwavering commitment to making a difference for the children receiving these booklets. Interested in getting your team involved? Contact us via email at: [email protected] to volunteer and create educational resources like this STEM Activity Booklet.

    Passionate Leader: transforming with customer-centric Innovation & Empathy | Mentor | DEI Exponent | (ex-VMware, ex-Dell)

Microsoft encourages its employees to live the mission "to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more" Over the last two weeks I have had the privilege of supporting three organisations HandsOn London Community TechAid (in collaboration with Kyndryl and WPP) and EDI (in partnership with The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and Microsoft) To have an employer who allows me to marry my personal passions and professional resources. I proudly work for a company centered on personal and professional IMPACT. While donating money to non-profit organisations is important, doing something where you can witness in real-time the difference your deeds have made is a privilege that I do not take lightly. Two weeks ago, I joined the incomparable Media & Comms CSAM team (headed up by Parminder). We cleaned up an old sensory garden at the Oldhill School in Stamford Hill, Hackney. HandsOn London gave us this opportunity and there are more like this. Oldhill school has been through great difficulties over the past few years and don't have the funds or resource to maintain the space. With the support of HandsOn London, volunteers and donations, they are on their way to having an outside learning space for the children attending the school, a space that can be maintained and a space where young people can flourish. I am not one for outdoors activities but I got to see wildlife, spend time with my colleagues and support two organisations that could use your support. HandsOn London challenges "the norm with a unique way to volunteer, one day at a time. When you want, where you want, as often as you want." If you live or work in the Greater London Area, please reach out to HandsOn London to volunteer in a way that works for you. https://lnkd.in/ePi9xbqw Ishanni Sarah Cameron Gianluca David and Nicky Bennett Next, I will feature the brilliant volunteering that WPP and Kyndryl did in Brixton last week. #Microsoftie #Impact #Volunteering #HandsOnLondon #GreaterLondonArea #CleanUp

Celebration with Service continues in #Europe! Our colleagues in London spent the last few weeks volunteering with HandsOn London beautifying Holland Park, socializing with older adults at Age UK, engaging with youth through sports Greenhouse Sports, and revitalizing a youth community center with Queen's Crescent Community Association. Meanwhile, our Dublin team cooked dozens of meals for sick children and their families with Ronald McDonald House Ireland.

Had a great day with HandsOn London, working on Oldhill Community School's sensory garden & forest school 🌳 After falling into disrepair during the pandemic, it was no longer safe for the children to enjoy, & the extreme budget constraints put on schools meant there was no resource to revitalise the space. We spent the day mixing cement to fill hazardous holes in the ground, pruning overgrown trees & clearing algae from the pond, but there's much more to do! This is an ongoing project HandsOn London are supporting, so get in touch with them if you'd like to get involved: [email protected]

The AQ team recently swapped our laptops for a vast array of horticultural tools, volunteering for a fulfilling day with HandsOn London to help maintain, preserve and increase the biodiversity of a woodland area in our local London park. As a purpose driven organisation, with social impact and the environment being core to our values, it was a fantastic opportunity to support a great cause, but also use the opportunity to get together with colleagues from all over the UK, enjoy some fresh air, and support each other’s mental health and wellbeing by switching off from the day-to-day jobs and concentrating on one collaborative task - we chopped, snipped, cleared and laughed. We also used the opportunity to get together in the evening to celebrate a fantastic year for AQ to date; so far this year, Anderson Quigley have partnered with over 40 organisations within the Higher Education, Schools, Health, Social, Not for Profit and Digital sectors, placing 36 executive search candidates and 94 interim leaders, supporting our clients to develop and recruit diverse and inclusive leadership teams. A big thank you to all our team for their hard work and commitment to our values and mission every day of the year!   If we can partner with you to support your current organisational leadership challenges, or help you find a new role, do get in touch at [email protected], or register as a candidate directly at: https://lnkd.in/eNYk7b6M #teamwork #volunteering #environmentalconservation #mentalhealth

Hands up who knows what this tool is called? Yesterday some of the team at Anderson Quigley spent a glorious day volunteering in Holland Park alongside HandsOn London. Holland Park is the base of the borough's Ecology Service. Volunteer groups continue to improve and maintain this area. We chopped, snipped, cleared and laughed! A fantastic day spent with colleagues continuing this important work to allow this beautiful park to be enjoyed by everyone. Look at those big smiles Claire Carter, John Laycock, Ella S., Patrick Worthington! Highly recommend visiting the park if you get a chance, there is so much to explore! You can also check out our handiwork! #Volunteering #HollandPark #Teamwork #Learning #NewSkills #GivingBack
