Mongkol Teng

Senior Management Consultant

Mongkol Teng joined MAD in 2022. He has about 15 years of professional experience working in higher education, international development, and community settings in the United States and Southeast Asia. Before joining MAD, Mongkol served as a program evaluator the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Youth Development, where he led, oversaw, and supported evaluation projects for the Minnesota 4-H program. Prior to Extension, Mongkol worked as an independent research and evaluation consultant for various international development nonprofits and agencies, including CARE International, USAID, and Cambodian Living Arts.

Consulting focus 

Mongkol’s areas of expertise include program evaluation, journey mapping, social network analysis, ripple effect mapping, survey design, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, GIS mapping, and data visualization.

Client and project highlights 

Mongkol’s early projects with MAD have included a study of the Green Tier program for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency; survey research for the Department of Education; a training needs assessment for the Department of Health’s Disease Intervention Specialists; and a funding formula analysis for the Minnesota Program for Automated Library Systems.

Educational background

Mongkol holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in education from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. He also completed a professional certificate program in geographical information systems (GIS) from Itasca Community College.
