CONNECTICUT — As fireworks venues across the state are preparing for the Fourth of July weekend, so are the outfits that shoot off the traditional displays.

But what does it take? It encompasses nearly an entire day of laying charges and connecting wires and organizing sequences .... all under strict rules.

Pictured is a day during a past season atop Fox Hill at Vernon's Henry Park. It is one of the largest displays in North Central Connecticut.
