The characters are established now in the school for their abilities to solve mysteries and their good critical thinking, so they're tasked by another class to help them finish a mystery film they started shooting but has no way of knowing how the mystery resolves. so with each chapter we hear different theories of how the movie should go, and it discusses detective fiction as well.
it was engaging and provided even a plot twist after i thought everything was resolved, so i liked that!...more

The trope of "a boy who doesn't want to join in any school activities and a girl who forces him to do that and the budding relationship between them" has been done a lot, but I find it refreshing in this series.
we follow the members of the classics club in high school as they solve mysteries in school, each with a different personality and different approach to high school life. ...more

No. 6 is really a story about native people who got their home taken from them by occupiers and were led to extinction. about a false utopia, hypnotizing people into believing that the government is working for their sake and that their walled city is safe and that the outside world is dangerous. about human greed and its repeating nature, that even when the whole world crumbles, the remaining humans would still repeat their doomed cycle all over again. about ambitions and lost innocense.
it reads like a redemption request for humans, as long as they embrace peace and stop acts of war....more

Shion is still grappling with everything and I feel that he puts too much pressure on Nezumi even after saying that he can handle everything. I didn't understand Safu, but one thing is clear, she loved Shion. Nezumi is still note sure of what he's feeling, so he contradicts himself every step along the way. Inukashi is afraid to say out lou what he feels deep in his heart, also the same goes for Rikiga. Karan is really a rock for everyone around her, and shee seems so different from the mother we saw in the first volume. Yoming is broken and while his goal is understandable, his methods aren't justified.
A lot of character development, and at this point I don't know if we're going to lose one of the main characters. also the repetitive writing style got on my nerve sometimes, but that has become the norm with this series...more

Especially since it relies heavily on internal thoughts not dialogue.
Anyway, we're finally seeing some action here. Shion and Nezumi are on their own horrific adventure, Inukashi is facing his own diemmas, poor Karan can't catch a break, And Safu is in real trouble. Shion is really that warm ray of sunlight for everyone in this miserable world.

This is a dystopia in a utopia where all the civillains are monitored and controlled byt the "big brother" and if they mess anything up, the consequences are cruel. We follow mainly two teenagers: one of them is a citizen if this city who's questionening him, and the other is a mysterious boy whose appearance makes him question his city and its systems.

so this one had some sweet moments and sad moments, and some really weird moments and even abusive/toxic traits?
We know from the 1st chapter that Sakuso this one had some sweet moments and sad moments, and some really weird moments and even abusive/toxic traits?
We know from the 1st chapter that Sakura is dead, and we start to go back in time following our protagonist and how he came to be Sakura's friend and the only one who knows about her disease and how she has only limited time left to live. He's an introvert, an extreme one, and she takes it upon herself to get him out of his shell, and she decides that apart from her family, he's the only one she wwill tell about her disease, this of course leads to them spending a lot of time together.
their relationship progress and that somehow starts changing the boy's perspective to people around, to life itself, to the idea of "anyone could die any time", since this girl who's supposedly dying looks very healthy and you wouldn't know unless she told you (which doesn't make so much sense in the case of her disease, but let's suspend out belief).
I liked their dark and dry humour together, but I feel like the translation didn't manage to convey it clearly (so I'm actually interested to see the film for the visuals), it also got a bit philosophical at times, which is to be expected when it deals with life and death.
I just felt the characters lacking any true depth, some events were unnecessary and didn't add anything, and some of their actions should've been mulled over more, but that didn't happen. it just lacked the needed depth for me....more
