We follow Sylvia, who discovers she's a clone and that she's connected to all of her other clones via dreams, and each one of them has some kind of a superpower. it's all good, but we never get any answers to who these clones are? who made them and for what purpose (we get half answers to these questions, but still)? also, what's the deal with the x-men agents following them? what was the purpose of those?...more

This is a heartbreaking story that is told completely in pictures without using a single word. it tells the story of a man who immigrates from his troubled country leaving behind his wife and daughter, to earn enough money and send it back to them. when he reaches his destination, he starts encountering a lot of people with similar immigration stories and similar goals and hopes. the art is simply amazing! it's so similar to our real world with different fantastical details and creatures and items used by people in their daily lives...more

our mc suffers from the distance between her and her childhood best friend when they start college, and she encounters an older woman, who becomes somewhat of a kindered soul to her and they break into people's houses together just to observe them.
it felt like a surrealist dream, and throughout the story we're not sure if this older woman is real or a figment of her imagination, for it to end in the epilogue with the weirdest ending possible.
it felt raw and real, but i didn't feel the sentiments of the characters really....more

It's set onIt shows that the team behind this worked on Archer too, as it has that same dark humor and inconsistent team and the horrible protagonist.
It's set on Mars populated by humans, and we follow a military team trying to protect the interests of humans corporations against martian natives (think of Arrakis in Dune and the Fremen). but this military team starts digging more things that they're not supposed to know and it ends horribly.
It seems like it assumes a lot of thereader, like it assumes the reader is already familiar with these characters, but I admit that the ending surprised me....more

With the 6th volume, it's finally getting interested and the parallels with Tokyo Ghoul are becoming more clear. I remember feeling confused when everything was revealed and new questions were posed in the very final volume of Tokyo Ghoul. like how could they leave us hanging after revealing all of this? Then I though everything will be answered right away in Tokyo Ghoul: Re, but they're really taking their sweet time.
At least, I'm finally starting to put all of the characters together. (it's a very big cast! all the characters from Tokyo Ghoul as well as new characters from Re)...more
