'Let me get my shoes. Let me get my shoes,' said Trump.

'I got you sir. I got you sir,' a second agent responded as they use their bodies to shield him.

'Let me get my shoes on,' Trump repeated.

'Hold on. Your head is bloody,' the first agent said. Trump can be seen with blood on his face after a bullet grazed his ear.

'Sir we’ve got to move to the car, sir,' the second agent said.

'OK,' the female agent responded.

'Wait, wait, wait,' said Trump.

Much of their words were picked up on microphones as Trump had been giving his remarks at a campaign rally in the western part of the state before multiple shots rang out.

Microphones also picked up the agents as they used their bodies to cover the former president and prepared to make their move.

'Go around to the spare, go around to the spare,' an agent said, referring to the car for Trump.

'Move to the spare. Hold. Hold, When you’re ready. On you,' a male agent said.

The agents then said, 'ready,'  'move,' 'up,' 'move!'

'Go, go, go,' one agent shouted.

'Hawkeye’s here,' an agent responded, referring to the code name of the assault team.

'Hawkeye’s here, moving to the spare,' a female agent responded.

Moments later agents could be heard saying 'shooter's down. Are we good to move?'

That's when the group slowing stood up from the ground.

The FBI is leading the investigation into the attempted assassination of the former president and their work is only just beginning as questions remain over how the shooter was able to get so close to a former president and Republican presumptive nominee.

Investigators identified the would-be assassin as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, PA who was shot and killed by Secret Service.

The registered Republican and 2022 high school graduate opened fire at the former president with an AR-style rifle from a roof 130 yards from the rally stage at 6.15pm.

One man attending the rally was killed and two other attendees were critically wounded.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a retired fire chief, husband and father of two daughters who was sitting behind the former president at his rally.

The 50-year-old died a hero as his family revealed he was shielding his young daughter and wife from the gunfire when he was killed.
